(2) Civil service special examinations, including Grade 2, 3, and 4, are held every year for police re-
cruitment. Since 2011, these examinations have been separated into “Civil Service Special Exam-
ination for Police Officers” and “Civil Service Special Examination for General Police Officers”; the
examinees are then divided into “graduates of the Central Police University” or “graduates of the
Taiwan Police College” and “others without police education backgrounds” (see Table 7-2).

2. Administrative Police
(1) Cracking down on offenses against sexual morality
Cracking down on offenses against sexual morality is one of the regular tasks of police depart-
ments. For the purpose of maintaining social order, the NPA’s top priorities are inspecting viola-
tions of the Human Trafficking Prevention Act, violations of the Child and Youth Sexual Exploita-
tion Prevention Act, and organized crimes involving sexual transactions in places such as karaoke
rooms, spas, dancing clubs, bars, certain type of coffee/tea shops, among others. In 2021, a total
of 901 cases were uncovered and 3,561 persons were arrested.
(2) Banning pornographic advertisements
