virtual reality course and cross-domain war-gaming style training” of the "5G Field Plan for Fire
Services" was implemented. Approved by the Executive Yuan in response to the latest developed
mobile communications technologies, this sub-plan is characterized by three features, namely the
use of 5G enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), massive machine type communication (mMTC), and
ultra-reliable, low latency communications (uRLLC), to build an interactive course system for disaster
prevention and rescue training with AR and VR technology. In 2022, the construction of the training
area and the dressing area for simulation of fire service realities was completed, and six virtual reality
(VR) courses were developed. In 2023, efforts to expand and develop large-scale comprehensive ex-
ercises, driving training courses, and cross-domain war-gaming training systems will continue.
